RUF in China
For the first time in history, RUF presented itself with its’ own stand in China’s biggest Auto show. The Guangzhou Auto Show 2011 took place from the 22nd to the 28th of November. Visitors gained an extensive insight into the European Automobile industry, as well as a chance to get to know the manufacturers themselves.
RUF Automobile had 4 cars on display: 2 supercars, the RUF CTR 3 and the Rt12R, as well as two new models. The new RUF-SUV, called the RUF Freiheit, and last but not least, The RUF XL, a stretch version of the Panamera, with a wheelbase extended by 40 cm for an improved business comfort.
RUF at the Essen Motor Show 2011
Two of our models will be representing RUF Automobile GmbH on the Essen Motor Show 2011, starting on the 26th of November, until the 4th of December.
Our upgraded 911 Turbo is outfitted with the new, weight optimized OZ Superforgiata rims with central locking nut. It’s the same car that won in the Auto Bild sportscars comparative review in the 10/2011 issue, breaking the editorial record in 0 to 100 km/h acceleration, in only 2.7 seconds, as well as confirming its’ ease of use on an everyday basis as well as on the racetrack.
The eRUF Coupe with two transversely mounted synchronous electric motors (made by Siemens, 250 kW), an automatic 2-speed gearbox and a limited slip differential will be on the E-Mobility booth (Hall 3.0, booth 326). The eRuf’s top speed is around 250 km/h, with 0-100 km/h acceleration in less than 5 seconds, with a total range of around 200 km.
eRUF at the Haldenhof Revival 2011
The famous Haldenhof Revival took place in Ludwigshafen, near the Lake Constance, from the 7th to the 9th of October 2011. Our eRUF was also there, representing Windreich in the racing class of this traditional hill climb, and managed to create a lot of attention among the viewers because of it’s performance and achieving one of the best lap times. Windreich displayed it’s own mobile power plant to exhibit the whole chain of processes involved in electric mobility. This mobile charging station powered by wind can be raised up to ten meters, with a rotor measuring a total of four meters in diameter.
Visit us at the IAA – the International Frankfurt Motor Show!
The IAA 2011 will be open to the general public at the Frankfurt Trade Fair complex from the 15th until the 25th of September. For the first time in history the IAA will have a hall dedicated exclusively to “Electric Mobility”.
RUF Automobile GmbH will exhibit the electric eRUF at the Bayern Innovativ booth (hall 4.0, booth C23).

RUF – Press release in the IAA Frankfurt
On the occasion of the 64th International Automobile Fair in Frankfurt (IAA), RUF Automobile GmbH proudly presented its 10 vehicle fleet consisting of purely electric sportscars based on the Porsche 911. The fleet was developed on the basis three different drive concepts for extensive field testing.
There was a Q&A for the press with Mr. Alois Ruf, The secretary of the environmental Ministry Mr. Jürgen Becker and Prof. Spiegelberg in name of the cooperation with Siemens.
Bertha Benz Challenge 2011
The date is the 10th of September and the sun is shining on 42 emission-free, alternately powered vehicles on the way from Mannheim to Pforzheim. Much like when Bertha Benz’s loud, rattling vehicle was travelling on the very same route back in 19th century like today, onlookers were surprised, but instead of being scared of what they saw, this time they were delighted by this astonishing sight.
Even State minister Silke Krebs herself was thrilled, and Baden-Wurttemberg’s Minister of Economy, Theresia Bauer was quite surprised by the performance of the vehicles. Afterwards she promised that will become a strong Focus of development politics.
Two powerful electric vehicles were part of the event, starting in representation of Windreich AG: An eRUF Coupé and an electrified Jaguar E-Type from 1961. The route started Saturday from Mannheim through Heidelberg and Bruchsal, until it reached Pforzheim. On Sunday, the convoy tracked back to Mannheim through the cities of Gondelsheim and Bruchsal. No incidents impeded the completion of the trip by the contestants.
This event marked the end of the Automobile Summer season of 2011 as well as the opening of the “Bertha Benz Memorial route”
RUF at the e-miglia August 2011
The e-miglia is a rallye for electric vehicles exclusively. RUF Automobile GmbH took part with twoof its own eRUF automobiles.
The e-miglia 2011 led from Munich to St. Moritz, via Mittersill and Bolzano. Four daily stages through four countries in Central Europe were to be accomplished by the participants.
The two eRUF Coupés managed to go the complete route without any technical problems. However, the event managers had problems organising a proper battery charging system and this lead to difficulties and delays for the participants.
Overall, valuable experience could be gained.
Porsche 997 Turbo PDK with 620 hp RUF-upgrade
RUF Automobile GmbH proudly announces a new upgrade for both the Porsche 997 Turbo and the Turbo S.
The standard 368 kW (500 hp) of the Turbo and the 390 kW (530 hp) of the Turbo S have been increased through modified engine electronics, a new air filter, a sports catalyst and a new exhaust system with double end pipes to a total of 456 kW (620 hp). The Torque increases to an astonishing 820 Nm @ 3,000 to 3,500 rpm. This enables a sprint of 0 – 62mph in just 2.9 seconds, 0 – 124 mph in 9.1 seconds and a top speed of 202 mph (326 km/h). The upgrade is available for both the manual and the PDK versions.
Porsche Cayenne Diesel with RUF Power upgrade
The new Cayenne Turbo is powered by a direct-injected 3.0 liter V6 turbo engine. With its eight-speed Tiptronic S transmission and a reduced vehicle weight, this SUV feels and drives lighter than ever before.
For whom the standard power of 240 hp (176 kW) is not sufficient, RUF Automobile GmbH, in the bavarian town of Pfaffenhausen, now offers two performance upgrades:
In Upgrade 1, performance is increased to 288 hp (212 kW) through the optimization of the electronic engine management system. The torque rises by 22 lb-ft (30 Nm) to a maximum of 428 lb-ft (580 Nm). The price, including installation is 3,850.- €, plus VAT.
For Upgrade 2, power increases to 310 hp (228 kW) by the incorporation of a modified turbocharger and the optimization of the engine management system. The maximum torque is raised to an incredible 465 lb-ft (630 Nm). The price, including installation, is 7,300.- € plus VAT.
Both performance enhancements are available immediately.
Panamera wheels by RUF
As from now RUF offers 22' wheels for all Porsche Panamera versions.
The forged aluminium wheels (without tires) with size 9.5J x 22 for the front and 11J x 22 for the rear are available for Euro 5,128.00 + VAT.
the wheels can be ordered for Euro 6,088.00 + VAT in the colour of your choice.
Valves and centre caps come included. The original wheel bolts are compatible.

RUF presents the new Rt 12 R
RUF proudly presents the all new Rt 12 R at the 2011 Geneva International Motorshow (3rd to 13th March). The 3.8 litre bi-turbo boxer engine delivers 537 kW (730 bhp) of power with a maximum torque figure of 940 Nm. A six speed gearbox deals with the power transmission and the 4WD system ensures optimal traction under all driving conditions. The lightweight R using design details originating from motor racing is an optimal choice of vehicle for the race track. The supension is also adjustable.

RUF Field Tests with ten electric-powered sports cars
RUF Automobile GmbH is developing various electric-powered sports vehicles based on the Porsche 911 for the purpose of running field tests of electric vehicles in real life situations. The first ten eRUF vehicles, manufactured in cooperation with Siemens AG, will be presented in the first half of 2011. The project is supported by the German Federal Ministry of the Environment for whom the results of the field tests relating to different battery and power-train concepts are of particular interest.
The following vehicle specifications are being manufactured for the purpose of the above mentioned field tests:
1. Single Motor Concept
- Base vehicle, Porsche 997 Carrera
- Electric motor (180 kW) and inverter from Siemens AG
- Porsche production gearbox used for speed reduction
- Lithium-ion batteries with an energy capacity of 29 kWh
- Integrated charger, DCDC-converter, plug, socket and charging cable

- Driving range approximately 150 km, maximum speed about 220 km/h, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in about 7 seconds
2. Twin Motor Concept with 2-speed Gearbox

- Automatic 2 speed gearbox, limited slip differential
- Liquid cooled and heated lithium ion battery with an energy capacity of 36,6 kWh

All eRUF field test vehicles receive an individual technical approval certificate from the German inspection agency (TÜV).

RUF at the Retro Classics Stuttgart
The world of classic automobiles from 10th to 13th March 2011
The Retro Classics exhibition is a popular meeting point on the classic car calendar in southern Germany. Occupying 8 halls of the Stuttgart exhibition centre, fans are presented with everything imaginable relating to classic cars.
RUF presents the Porsche 901 with the chassis number 300027, the 27th Porsche 911 ever made. This 901 still belongs to its first owner and has been lovingly restored by RUF in Pfaffenhausen.

The first Porsche Service Centre opened by RUF
For nearly five decades RUF AUTOMOBILE GMBH has concentrated on vehicles from the high performance sports car brand, Porsche. With the competence and experience gained over the years RUF has attained a worldwide reputation surrounding the STUTTGART make. A logical extension of this history was to from a closer realtionship between the Porsche Company an RUF.
The Porsche Service Centre (or PSZ) in Pfaffenhausen opened its doors officially for business on Januray 10th 2011. The PSZ layout is split into three areas. An office area for customer care, order acceptance as well as the sale of articles from Porsche Design Driver's Selection is located adjacent to a vehicle reception bay with a car lift and brake tester supplemented by the most modern electronic vehicle diagnostic systems.
The service area with a floor space of 780 m2 complements the layout and, equipped with five hydraulic car lifts as well as parts store, is more than ready to accommodate the most demanding customer requirements. Bays for electronic test measurements, tyre fitting, engine and gearbox maintenance complete the garage layout.
The extensive experience of our workshop staff ensures a professional service and optimal assistance not only for vehicles of the current Porsche model range but also older models covering the entire historic range of the Porsche company.
