30.11.2006 - New: RUF RGT at the Essen Motor Show 2006
The RUF RGT has been inspired by the legendary 1973 Carrera RS.
The high revving normally aspirated engine is based on the crankcase of the original 911-engine. It is equipped with dry-sump lubrication with a separate oil tank to ensure a reliable oil supply for the engine even at high cornering speeds. The 3.8 litre engine has a high compression ratio of 12.0 : 1. The output of 445 hp (327 kW) is reached at 7,600 rpm.
Zero to 62 mph (100 kph) takes just a scant 4.2 seconds, zero to 125 mph (200 kph) just 13.5 seconds. The top speed is 197 mph (315 kph).
The RGT engine captivates by its spontaneous response behaviour and its distinct revving ability.
The RGT will be delivered in rear-wheel-drive and 6 speed transmission with limited slip differential and short shift kit serially.
The sport suspension is adjusted for road traffic as well as for track use by the help of especially adjusted Bilstein gas shock absorbers and chassis springs.
The standard RGT Coupé is equipped with an integrated roll cage which is covered almost entirely by the Alcantara of the A, B and C pillar. The crossbar can be demounted.
21.11.2006 - RUF at the Motor Show Essen 2006
From December 1st till December 10th the Motor Show Essen 2006 will take place.
Themed as "Your car is more" the focus of the most popular car show 2006 in Germany lies at the automotive individuality and the sportiness.
RUF will exhibit two cars at the show. The RUF RGT will be presented at the Pirelli stand and on the Bilstein stand you could admire the RUF RK Coupé.
10.11.2006 - RUF Rallye 2006 from the 3rd till the 7th of October
The "RUF Rallye of Friends" took place this year in sunny Spain. The 80 participants - coming from Puerto Rico, Belgium, Italy and Germany... - arrived on Tuesday evening at the hotel "Augusta Valles" in Montmeló and met for a "Check-In" and a welcoming drink. Many of the participants have been meeting each other for years at the RUF Rallyes, however the guests who attended the event for the first time felt comfortable right from the start.
Early Wednesday morning the group proceeded to the nearby Formula 1 racetrack "Circuit de Catalunya". At the sectional training and free driving the guests could optimize their driving skills with the guidance of the instructor team.
Later that evening the group went along to Lloret de Mar in the Costa Brava where a welcome drink was waiting them at the fantastic hotel "Alva Park Resort & Spa". The guests where astonished as the waiter and the waitress performed operetta music while serving the elegant dinner. With this surprise the first evening concluded.
On Thursday the drive continued through the wonderful and varied countryside of Catalunya. Back in the hotel, Mr. Ruf took the opportunity to introduce the group to the RUF project in Bahrain.
Lead by the RUF Rallye Roadbook the group continued the drive on Friday to their next destination near Girona. Like every year the Rallye finished with a superb gala dinner. After a 6-course menu the guests celebrated and danced late into the night to the music of a live band.
27.10.2006 - Students from Belgium visited RUF Automobile
On Friday, October 27th 2006, a group of engineer students from the Gramme Institut in Lüttich / Belgium visited RUF Automobile in Pfaffenhausen.
During the tour through the company the students learned about the history of RUF as well as about the developement and the production of RUF vehicles.
19.10.2006 - Rotary Club Krumbach visited RUF in Pfaffenhausen
October 18th 2006
On Wednesday evening 25 members of the Rotary Club Krumbach visited RUF in Pfaffenhausen.
Alois Ruf was very pleased to welcome the guests and he proudly introduced Mr. Ahmed Al-Khan, Board Member of RUF Bahrain and Mr. Leopold von Bismarck-Osten, Director Project Development, to the group.
RUF Automobile will be the first car manufacturer to open a production plant in the Arabic world.
During the detailed tour through the RUF facilities the group learned about the know-how of RUF. Every RUF vehicle is tailor made and as car manufacturer RUF builds every vehicle to the customer's desire and requirements.
The guest were very impressed about the internationa orientation of the company and everybody was truly amazed about the numerous foreign license plates on the clients' cars.
29.09.2006 - The "Porsche Drivers Club" of the Deutsche Vermögensberatung (German Investment Counselling) visited RUF in Pfaffenhausen
The annual tour of the "Porsche Drivers Club" of the Deutsche Vermögensberater lead them to RUF in Pfaffenhausen.
After lunch at the restaurant "Lenderstuben" in Balzhausen the visitors got a tour through the RUF company. They could not only see the expertise in building sports cars, but also the affectionate restauration of youngtimers and oldtimers.
RUF and the Deutsche Vermögensberater met for the first time in spring 2006 at a drivers event in Hockenheim. The 90 Porsche drivers had been excited about the performance of the RUF cars so they wanted to become acquainted with the manufactur.
19.09.2006 - Visit of Porsche Club America
It was a pleasure to welcome a group of members of the Porsche Club America on Tuesday, 19th September 2006. They came to Pfaffenhausen during their trip to Germany themed "Autobahn Adventures".
01.09.2006 - RUF Automobile GmbH was affiliated to the VDA (The German Association of the Automotive Industry)
RUF Automobile GmbH was affiliated as new member of the VDA. "It's a joyful and important step in the history of our company," explains Alois Ruf, owner of RUF Automobile GmbH.
In 1975 already the company, founded in 1939, built the first car with its own chassis number. In 1981 RUF Automobile GmbH was registered at the German Federal Motor Office as car manufacturer and in 1987 this licence was extended also to Japan and the USA.
Presently, a new car factory is being built in the Kingdom of Bahrain. RUF Automobile GmbH will be the first European car manufacturer to start there the production of RUF-sports cars in 2007.
22.08.2006 - Presentation of the RUF RK Coupé to the world public
On August, 16th 2006 at "The Quail Lodge Motorsports Gathering" in Carmel, California, RUF Automobile GmbH presented together with Studiotorino the new RUF RK Coupé.
The 3.8-litre - Kompressor engine does 324 kW (440 bhp) and accelerates the mid engine-coupé from 0 - 100 bhp in 4.3 sec. The maximum speed is 304 bhp.
The RUF RK Coupé - limited to 49 cars - will also be available in the USA.

30.07.2006 - Vienna Synphonic Orchestra visited Pfaffenhausen
The Vienna Synphonic Orchestra concert on July 30th 2006 was greatly enjoyed by the public. RUF Automobile took this advantage to invite friends and customers to join a cocktail reception at RUF premises before the concert started. The event, which was sponsored by RUF amongst other local companies, was a great success.
10.07.2006 - Porsche Club America visits RUF
Everybody had a good time at the Concours d'Elegance, the tour and the get together during the Bavarian barbeque. Next year the PCA will celebrate the 25th visit at RUF.
27.06.2006 - RUF Driver Training Event on June 24th 2006 on an air base
On Saturday, June 24th 2006 the first RUF Driver training event took place at an air base in Kaufbeuren (approx. 36 km from Pfaffenhausen).
The participants had a lot of fun and enjoyed themselves at the section training and of course at the free driving. There was a great Rallye spirit in the air. A special highlight for the group was a ride with Stefan "Sideway" Roser in the legendary RUF CTR 1 "Yellowbird".
After the award ceremony in the afternoon the RUF Group continued to Füssen. The evening started with a gala dinner at the local theatre "Festspielhaus Neuschwanstein": Afterwards, everyone enjoyed the sensational musical "Ludwig²". It was a great surprise for all participants to meet the two main characters in person during the break. Later the group retired to the lovely hotel "Luitpoldpark" where everyone could reflect on a full day of events in a relaxed and charming atmosphere.
